IDN Community Working Session - Labor Market Analysis

We've heard from many of you that communities would appreciate more opportunities to meet and discuss their work between convenings. To that end, we'll begin hosting regularly scheduled "working sessions": non-mandatory, remote meetings on different topics, lightly facilitated by CAEL, where communities can ask questions of the CAEL team and discuss their progress, successes, and challenges with other IDN communities. See the dates and topics for the second working session below:

  • TODAY'S SESSION: Tuesday, September 10 @ 10 am central, Labor Market Analysis: discuss the findings from your Regional Economic Landscape Analysis, ask any remaining questions for Burning Glass, and brainstorm directions for each community's next set of analyses

Continue to check in with the IDN Slack Channel. Respond to CAEL's prompts or start threads of your own!
Please forward this invite to your leadership team.

Regional Economic Landscape Overview Webinar - Burning Glass Insights

Session Overview

Join us for a one-hour walk through of Phase I of the labor market analysis (the regional Economic Landscape Overview) communities will receive from BurningGlass. As discussed previously, this will include a data report in html format and an accompanying executive summary that highlights some of the interesting findings specific to your region. BurningGlass will go over an example of an executive summary to give you an idea of what types of questions you can answer with the data provide. They will then walk through the html data report, showing you how to navigate and download data from it to do your own analyses. No preparation is needed for this session.

IDN Training Webinar: Workforce Asset Mapping

Join us as a team, or individually, for an overview on mapping regional workforce assets. Mapping workforce assets will help identify potential gaps and resources to support strategy development and implementation.

During this session we'll provide a framework, examples of best practices, and a recommended schedule of activities. Some communities may already have gone through a version of this exercise - if so, we invite you to share and/or build off what you've already done. This webinar is recommended for Leadership Team members with a deep understanding regarding the various workforce training programs and support service offerings that currently exist in the community. Other appropriate attendees include Leadership Team and/or support staff responsible for project management, research, or data management.

Note on scheduling: Thank you to all those who were able to provide their availability for scheduling this webinar. We recognize that it is difficult to find times that work for all community and potential attendees. As a result, we will host this meeting on the date that was available for the most communities. We will record the webinar and make that recording available on the community portal. Information shared during this session will provide a foundation for activities during the Convening next month. Ideally, all team members traveling to Cleveland will attend this webinar or watch the recording, but at a minimum we ask that at least one representative from each community attend live/watch the recording and report back to their team so that all communities are on the same page for Convening activities.

Please forward this invite to the rest of your community team. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your CAEL TA team with any questions. This invite will be updated with a Zoom meeting, agenda, and other resources prior to the webinar.
